Foamlinx Collaborates with Bay Area Recycling Company to Provide Custom Foam Recycling Services
Foamlinx LLC, a Silicon Valley based company, manufacturer of CNC foam cutting machinery is expanding its business to include custom foam recycling programs and services. The company has teamed up with foamrecycle.org, an environmentally green recycling company to offer pick up of foam scrap from local businesses, foam drop off and storage as well as foam recycling equipment rental. Full recycling cost assessment is also offered, on site or by email, for large foam scrap volume.Foam, mainly EPS (Expanded Polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam) is a significant source of waste for many Manufacturers and distributors, especially for many of the electronics and high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. However, EPS as well as all packing foam types are 100% recyclable. If not recycled, it will take EPS about 500 years to break down, and no one wants to wait that long. Foamlinx and FoamRecycle have developed efficient and cost effective methods for companies to get rid of all that extra foam waste and surplus that is a bypass product of manufacturing and cutting foam. The company is providing a complete line of recycling equipment solution. That equipment includes foam shredders, compactors, densifiers and foam melting machines, all able to reduce foam scrap size thus providing a complete solution for any company.
FoamRecycle.org and Foamlinx possess transportation, storage and processing capabilities. They have recently purchased new recycling equipment, including a large EPS hot melting recycling machine, capable of melting about 250lbs foam. The companies own trucks capable of carrying up to 300cf of foam from the customer’s site to their San Pablo storage and recycling facility. They offer recycling services for several types of materials, including Expanded polystyrene (EPS, also known as packing foam), Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) and Expanded Polypropylene (EPP)
The customers can drop off the foam waste at the recycling facility in San Pablo CA, or have the foam scrap picked up from their location in the Bay Area. Foam pick up is currently offered to companies and factories, not for individuals. Once the foam reaches our recycling facility is grinded, shredded, compacted or melted, depending on the material. The end result is recycled material that is up to 98% smaller than its original size. Recycling equipment rental is also offered for companies that do not have foam waste on a regular basis and want to recycle per project while saving costs. The recycling rental services are custom and tailored to the customer’s needs.
Tal, owner of Foamlinx LLC and co-owner of FoamRecycle.org stated that there is a growing need in the bay area for foam recycling services, especially in recent years. He mentioned that with the further development of the Silicon Valley occupying more and more high-tech companies, they are all left with excess packing material which is hard to get rid of. This extra waste could be a hustle since it takes up a lot of space and companies need to hire or rent trucks in order to dump it in recycling centers to get rid of it. Tal continued to say that “Since we also manufacture foam cutting equipment and providing foam cutting services, and we ourselves were looking for solution to our own excess foam after each project is done, it is only natural for us to also offer foam recycling services, understanding the market needs.”.
