Gleistein Ropes celebrates FLX Mooring System successes and more at Seatrade Cruise Global trade fair
Cruising towards even greater achievements with industry-leading, long-life mooring solutionsFort Lauderdale / Bremen, 14 March 2016 – At this year’s Seatrade Cruise Global (formerly CSM – Cruise Shipping Miami) trade fair taking place 14-17 March in Fort Lauderdale, Gleistein is placing the spotlight squarely on its successful mooring range. Besides solutions including GeoTwin WinchMaster and GeoSquare Plus, the revolutionary FLX Mooring System will spearhead the Gleistein Ropes appearance. AIDAprima has recently been fitted-out with the advanced mooring system – and AIDAperla will follow soon – to join Carnival Vista as well as both Oasis and Allure of the Seas, already sporting the Gleistein flagship mooring system. Visitors to the Gleistein Ropes Seatrade Cruise Global stand, located in the German Pavilion, booth 2431-02, will be able to find out why the FLX Mooring System is increasingly becoming the option of choice for the world’s leading cruise line companies.
Greater reliability, easier handling and lower lifetime costs: with the mooring solutions Gleistein Ropes is presenting at Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale, cruise line companies are assured of making a wise investment.
AIDAprima and AIDAperla with FLX Mooring System
At 300 metres in length each, the FLX Mooring System maxim of “the bigger the ship, the bigger the benefit” certainly holds true for the AIDAprima and AIDAperla. The system combines a low stretch main mooring line with a highly elastic tail acting as the economical sacrificial element. This means longevity of the main mooring line with Dyneema® is dramatically increased and the lifetime costs of the overall system are radically cut – as only the tail will generally need to be replaced. Moreover, it is much lighter than a conventional mooring system to ensure easier, safer handling and is also significantly more compact, thereby reducing onboard real estate requirements. The AIDA FLX Mooring System deal was completed by Bremen-based German shipping supplier Uwe Kloska GmbH, through a partnership agreement with Gleistein Ropes effective since January 2013. Previous FLX Mooring System fit-outs also include both of the world’s largest cruise liners – Royal Caribbean’s Allure and Oasis of the Seas – and more recently, Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Vista, which was also organised through the partnership with Kloska.
Mooring lines for all needs and preferences
Also on show at the Gleistein Ropes stand will be a range of other popular mooring line solutions: GeoTwin WinchMaster, which set new standards in winch and mooring rope technology upon its release, features tremendous dimensional stability ensuring best possible winch spooling characteristics while simultaneously boasting exceptional strength and abrasion resistance paired with neutral buoyancy. GeoSquare Plus, meanwhile, is a proven choice for tough assignments: it is particularly cost effective, durable, lightweight and is easy to splice. In addition, its special striped design lets twists be immediately recognised and also provides excellent visibility in water and against light.
Join Gleistein Ropes at Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale, 14-17 March 2016. The Gleistein Ropes stand is located in the German Pavilion, booth 2431-02.
