Ukrainian artists are collecting $25 000 for the combat medics
September 26 - "Steering Wheel to the Rescue" - is a fundraising campaign with a goal of $ 25,000 organized by the Charity Fund "Grateful" together with contemporary Ukrainian artists aimed at purchasing buggies for evacuating the wounded. In this project ten influential personalities of Ukrainian visual art, namely, Iryna Maksymova, Waone (Volodymyr Manzhos), Borys Bios, Valentyn Lapshyn, Feros (Serhii Hrekh), Vova Keno, Aec Interesni Kazki (Oleksii Bordusov), Andrii Roik and Dzvinya Podliashetska, united to present their masterpieces to lucky donors.
Vitaliy Hrekh, an artist, muralist, and one of the project organizers, shared his thoughts on how the idea of "Steering Wheel to the Rescue" came up: "I fundraised for the needs of the army a couple of times on my own and saw that my creativity could effectively help. So, I invited my colleagues to participate in this project because I knew we could do way more together. It was also important for me to show Ukraine and the World that this is not an abstract war but a war for our culture and survival."
As a result, each of the ten artists opened an account to collect funds. Soon, the accumulated amount will be transferred to the account of the Charity Fund "Grateful" for the purchase of car parts and the production of about ten evacuation buggies, which will rescue wounded soldiers on the front line in the Zaporizhzhia direction (the total amount of the fundraising is $25 000 or 1,000,000 UAH).
Starting September 20, 2023, everyone joining the fundraising campaign will participate in a raffle of masterpieces made by Ukrainian artists. To do this, people must donate at least $8 (1 ticket - $8, 2 tickets - $16, etc.) to the bank account created separately for each artwork. The raffle of paintings will be held after each artist's fundraising part is complete. There will be ten winners who will obtain ten paintings.
The Ukrainian charity fund"Grateful" team is coordinating the technical processes in this campaign. The fund was created in 2022 to save the lives of military and civilians - victims of Russian aggression, by providing professionals with medical resources. During their activities, the "Grateful" volunteers sent over 20 tons of humanitarian aid, purchased medical equipment worth 2.7 million UAH, and supplied more than 500 requests.
They say that when the war for survival happens - every helping hand makes a difference. Ukrainians do and will do everything possible (and sometimes what seems impossible) to fill in all the gaps, saving lives and mitigating the consequences of the damage caused by the aggressor.
