Indian cultural heritage: BRC impact report brings insights for the global audience

Since time immemorial, India has been a beacon of literature, science, technology, medicine, and spiritual wisdom. Tragically, many invaluable manuscripts were lost in the fires of the Nalanda libraries. The suppression of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) further intensified during the British colonial era when they were excluded from the academic curricula.

Today, what we have is but a shimmering fragment of India's vast ancient wisdom, yet its relevance remains undiminished, serving as a potent elixir for the world. Alarmingly, nearly 97% of the 10 million existing ancient Indian scriptures face potential oblivion. The Bhaktivedanta Research Center (BRC) is dedicated to the monumental task of resurrecting these manuscripts, focusing on their collection, digital preservation, and educational dissemination.

The Report Launch Event
On September 6, 2023, Stockholm University, an emblem of academic excellence in the city that hosts the Nobel Prize, unveiled the BRC Impact Report, by Consultivo and Slate of Swan.
This launch, set against the backdrop of a workshop on India and global Hinduism, was a melting pot of intellectual exchange.

The Organisers
Stockholm University's Department of Ethnology, History of Religions, and Gender Studies led this initiative, partnering with Utah State University, The Center for Dharma Studies at Berkeley, and the Bhaktivedanta Research Centre.
