wePromite.com tries to bring a second life to web directories.

Bologna, Italy -- November 7, 2007 -- wePromite.com starts getting advertisers for their web directory, with the purpose of increasing the volumes of submitted sites in short time, according to Director Romano Panzacchi.

"Web directories are one of the most used method for the promotion of sites in the world wide web. Unfortunately there are plenty of web directories developed on the same content management system. The result is a useless standardisation of services" Panzacchi said.

"If the marketplace internet advertising wants to evolve, the stakeholders must push on differentiation, trying to create sites both for advertisers and visitors. wepromite.com was born with this objective in mind. It's an experiment aimed at understanding if the market of directories can still be considered a Blue Ocean" Panzacchi explained.

wepromite.com was born as a test, focusing the attention on browsing features (to see if a multi-level menu can help users in navigating through a web directory) and the way to display search results (not text links, but images representing the brands of the promoted web sites)
