Press release from: Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH

ATEX servo motors, ECOSPEED

ATEX servo motors, ECOSPEED

Special requirements need special solutions. Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH has developed the ATEX motor series ECOSPEED B for production facilities, in which an explosive mixture of air and gases, vapors, or mists, may arise.
The servo motors are designed for application processes that require the highest levels of dynamics and precision.

The series B of ECOSPEED motors is certified according to ATEX II 2G Ex d IIB T4 Gb. The ATEX servo motors with flameproof enclosure are suitable for use in zone 1 and 2. The product family includes 9 models with a rated power range up to 1.5 kW with peak torques up to 12 Nm and a maximum speed of 8000 rpm.

A special feature of the explosion-proof ECOSPEED motors are the numerous feedback systems. The ATEX servo motors are available with incremental encoder (resolution up to 80,000 inc/rev), SinCos encoder (resolution up to 512,000 inc/rev) and multi-turn absolute encoder (resolution 17 bit/rev and 12 bit per revolution).

The wide range of servo amplifiers with DC link voltages from 60 to 600 VDC optimized drive solutions can be implemented for the most varied applications. The servo amplifiers are available as 1- or 2-axes devices with a variety of fieldbus interfaces.

For the first time ever, ATEX motors will be presented at Motek in Stuttgart, the leading trade fair for production and assembly automation.

Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH was founded in 1990 by former Zeiss engineers in the technological location of Jena and currently employs approximately 120 employees. The company develops, manufactures, and distributes servo drives and installation-ready mechatronic systems for the mechanical engineering, textile, solar, automotive, packaging, and logistics sectors.
