New York, NY - August 14, 2023 - African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) is Hosting a Film Educational Symposium on August 19th from 4-6pm at Avenue Church located at 1745 1st Ave. in NYC.

The AAWIC Symposium is designed to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to aspiring film producers and content creators, focusing on three essential aspects: preparing for film festival submissions, effectively distributing films using streaming app platforms and marketing.
We bring together a network of industry professionals, experienced filmmakers, and experts who share their expertise and guide participants through the intricate processes of film production, festival submission, distribution and marketing.
Moderated by: Marsha Taylor, CEO of Hidden Agenda & Founder-Executive Producer of LOL Comedy Honors, Feature speakers include, Lamonia Brown, Festival Director for the Essence Film Festival Co-chair of the Women of Color Caucus for the Writers Guild of America East, Tanya Hoffler-Moore, Vice President of Video for iOne Digital an Urban One company, her television writing credits include the hit series "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" and "Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns". She has also produced and directed a variety of content for major cable and digital networks such as Vh1, BET, BET Digital, MTV, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Twitter*/X, Facebook/Meta, YouTube and Instagram. Individual tickets for attendance can be purchased or to purchase a ticket for a scholarship visit www.aawic.org.

Those who purchase tickets for scholarships, please send confirmation of purchased with "for scholarship" in the subject line to info@aawic.org to receive your benefits. Benefits include, a letter for tax deductible purposes, Inclusion of name/company/organization in the promotional campaign and a AAWIC A-List Membership.

Scholarships are available for aspiring filmmakers/content creators between the ages of 18-25yrs. to attend.
