Symeo GmbH expands international partner network: Solvo Ltd. is new Russian distributor for Symeo GmbH

Neubiberg (Germany), August 19, 2015 – Symeo GmbH, a leading expert for wireless position detection, distance measurement, anti-collision and data transmission systems, signed a strategic partner agreement with Solvo Ltd. covering the Russian region. Solvo is an independent software developer and the leading provider of terminal operating solutions for port logistics in its home country. In addition to Ferrox LLC, Solvo now gives Symeo a second Russian distributor with special expertise in terminal systems and software solutions. With this regional move, Symeo expands its global market position in the area of radio- and global-satellite-based position detection solutions.

Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Solvo Ltd. is the leading provider of terminal operating system (TOS) solutions in Russia. These software systems are a key element in supply chain management for container terminals. They allow efficient monitoring of container handling operations and coordinate the movement of all equipment and freight throughout the terminal. For optimized port logistics that rely on the use of terminal operating systems, precise position detection of Container Handling Equipment (CHE) devices such as straddle carriers, reach stackers and empty handlers is needed – regardless of the conditions in any type of weather and environment.

The positioning systems from Symeo GmbH, which are meanwhile deployed on nearly 700 transport vehicles at more than 30 container terminals around the world, provide Solvo's customers and sales partners a highly-accurate, reliable positioning solution for seamless material tracking.

Using the patented local positioning radar and with the help of global satellite technology (GPS, Glonass and Galileo), Symeo systems determine the position of rail-bounded and free-moving transport vehicles, cranes and freight in real-time - both in internal and external areas of the container terminal, even in difficult-to-access environments such as between high container stacks or near buildings, cranes and ships. The Symeo products feature a special, robust design that ensures fault-tolerant and maintenance-free operation, even in harsh conditions where dirt, dust and vibrations are commonplace.

… for highly-efficient terminal operating system solutions

The combination of Symeo's proven positioning systems and Solvo's software systems, which have been validated by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in Germany, provides Russian terminal operators an integrated approach to optimized terminal management.
