Westlake Chemical Appoints Dr. Karl-Martin Schellerer as Vice

HOUSTON, July 15, 2015 -- Westlake Chemical Corporation (NYSE:WLK) announced today that Dr. Karl-Martin Schellerer has joined Westlake Chemical as Vice President & General Manager – Vinnolit, reporting to Robert Buesinger, Senior Vice President – Vinyls. On November 1, 2015, Dr. Schellerer will replace Dr. Josef Ertl, upon his retirement as the Managing Director of Vinnolit GmbH.

Dr. Schellerer joins Westlake from Dr. Wieselhuber & Partner Consultants GmbH in Munich where he led a variety of consulting engagements as the head of the firm’s Process & Construction Industries practice. Previously, Dr. Schellerer enjoyed a successful career with Vinnolit, beginning in 1997 as Sales Manager – Paste & Extender PVC. After an assignment as Technical Manager, Dr. Schellerer served in successive roles as the Head of Business of the Fabric & Paper Coating business team, Head of Sales & Marketing – Paste & Extender PVC and Head of Corporate Development.

Dr. Schellerer has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Universities of Augsburg & Pittsburgh (USA) and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Regensburg.
