ICOP Technology introduces 933 MHz Panel PCs
Taipei, Taiwan / Frankfurt, Germany, July 07, 2015 – ICOP Technology introduces with the industrial-grade PPC series a new 933 MHz Panel PC family developed to be deployed as lean, low-power HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces). The compact and fully x86 compatible, rugged Panel PC series in metal housing follows the trend towards client/server architectures with central processing clouds and slim, distributed control terminals as well as industrial-grade thin client installations. Application areas are to be found where low-power designs need industrial robustness and versatile industrial-grade connectivity options at an attractive price point. Target markets are, for example, retail, industrial automation, digital signage and facility management applications, where more complex x86 processors would create greater overhead and costs. The new fanless Panel PC series with 9 or 15 inch touch screens, metal housing and front IP65 protection is equipped with energy-saving low power DM&P Vortex86 processors and is available in various industrial-grade I/O configurations including support of various serial interfaces. Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity is provided by either one or two Ethernet ports or optional Wi-Fi. The Panel PCs support extended operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) or optional -20°C to 60°C (-4 F to 140°F). A programmable Watchdog Timer and numerous certificates such as CE, FCC, VCCI, TUV, NRTL, vibration, shock, IP65 and KCC underline the thoroughbred industrial robustness of the new Panel PCs.
The technical details at a glance
The fanless Panel PC series integrates an ultra-low power 933 MHz DM&P Vortex86DX2 SoC processor, up to 2 GB DDR2 RAM and PXE diskless boot. Various standard interface options are available including serial RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422 interfaces, one or two LAN ports as well as optional Wi-Fi. On top of these design choices, all systems offer 3x USB as well as HD-audio and PS/2 legacy interfaces for keyboard and mouse. Mass storage devices can be connected via Compact Flash I/II socket, SD-, MicroSD and/or SATA module. The cross bar switch of the Vortex86DX2 SoC processor offers additional options including OEM motion control implementations. The fanless Panel PC series is fully compatible with Linux/Ubuntu, DOS and Windows including Windows CE, XP, Embedded Standard (Windows XP Embedded), or Windows 7. All variants are now available.
