Press release from: gamigo AG

Hamburg, 1st June 2015 – gamigo group, a leading gaming company in Europe and North America, has formed Infernum Games GmbH together with next idea GmbH. Each company holds a 50% interest. As part of this joint venture, Infernum Games GmbH will acquire the entire operating business from the international online game provider Infernum Productions AG. The staff will be transferred to the new company.

next idea GmbH has more than 30 million registered players via its subsidiary Looki Publishing GmbH and is thus one of Europe’s largest publishers.

Infernum Productions AG’s annual revenues total around EUR 2 million. The company was formed in 2011 and has ca. 6 million registered players with its online games Hazard Ops, Dragon’s Prophet and Brick-Force. Infernum Productions AG filed for insolvency in December 2014. Attorney-at-law Christian Graf Brockdorff, of the insolvency administrators BBL Bernsau Brockdorff, has been supervising the insolvency proceedings first as a trustee and later as insolvency administrator.

“The consolidation process in the games industry is continuing. As an international provider, our gamigo platform strategy means that we are in the perfect position to boost our growth in the future with further acquisitions. With the acquisition of Infernum Productions AG from its insolvency, gamigo AG is gaining key technical, infrastructural and strategic synergies, increasing its network of industry expertise as well as the cash flow. Once all assets have been transferred, we will be able to get the games that have suffered from the insolvency back on track with a new boost”, explained Theodor Niehues, a member of gamigo’s management board.

Andreas Planer, next idea GmbH’s founder and managing director, noted: “We are delighted to expand the scope of our business together with gamigo group. For next idea GmbH this step permanently reinforces our path to the games market of the future.”
