Baxter Freight continues to grow through developing its technology and relaunching its vision and values
Over the last two years the impact of the logistics sector on the economy has become more recognised; during the pandemic and at the start of life after Brexit, Nottingham-based Baxter Freight has been at the forefront of supporting businesses to keep trading and to maintain their supply chains.Where 2021 was a year of responding to these challenges, 2022 was a year of new investment to build on its position and to face the future with confidence.
The company's turnover for 2022 exceeded £37m, a rise of £6m on the prior year, with the number of consignments rising by 29%. Average staff numbers rose from 84 to 113, with a profit after tax of £0.7m.
Managing Director Peter Isler said "These results reflect our innovation, our investment in digital transformation and our customer service which we believe is the best in the industry. The strength of our team has driven new solutions to help our customers navigate the complexities of a post-Brexit world and ready ourselves for the next round of challenges that the 21st Century will undoubtedly bring."
Creativity and strong collaboration are core values of Baxter Freight. The company has continued to partner with DHL Freight and Gerlach Customs, and this year worked with leading business academics at Nottingham Trent University to help shape its marketing strategy.
The company has started 2023 with the mission of: "We are the solutions architects for even the most complex logistics requirements building sustainable, collaborative relationships where everyone wins", highlighting the value placed on relationships with customers and suppliers as well as within the whole Baxter Freight team.
The creation of a new level of senior management, with associate directors promoted from across the business, will help support the further growth of the business. Developing people is a key part of the culture and there will be a focus on creating more roles and recruiting to meet further growth plans; total staff numbers are expected to rise to 170 by the end of this year.
The continued growth is already enabling Baxter Freight to expand its presence in important markets such as the Middle East and the Americas, joining valuable international transport networks such as Conqueror and Pangea.
All of this is underpinned by their brand-new CRM platform and new website launched in March 2023. Baxter Freight will be an exciting logistics company to watch in the coming year, as they drive innovation and efficiency further, and position themselves as an employer of choice in the East Midlands.

Baxter Freight is focused on providing clever solutions to complex logistics problems. A Nottingham based business, founded in 2014, Baxter Freight works with businesses across the globe to help them find value in their supply chain, offering them a personalised service and access to a team of highly experienced consultants.
Where many logistics companies opt for digital support, Baxter Freight has an entirely different approach where building relationships and partnerships are at the core. Logistics is complex and customers and freight suppliers need to know they can access a dedicated Account Manager to talk to as well as having the comfort of knowing someone is actively looking after their goods through transit.
With over 140 members of staff Baxter Freight continues to grow and is actively recruiting to support ambitious growth plans.
The company has recently published its audited financial results for the year to December 2022. Turnover figures include recharges of taxes and duty.
