AWARD-WINNING COMEDIAN CHRIS THOMAS BRINGS HIS UNIQUE BRAND OF HUMOR TO DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM'S UPTOWN JAZZ LOUNGE
Birmingham, AL - On Sunday, April 30th TheySoFunny, LLC kicks off it's Old School Comedy Series entitled "Uptown Sunday Comedy" aptly named for its location, the Uptown Entertainment District in Downtown Birmingham while paying homage to the legendary movie "Uptown Saturday Night."
The NEW Uptown Jazz Lounge in downtown Birmingham will host two shows every Sunday featuring veteran comics from HBO's Def Comedy Jam and BET's Comic. The series kicks off SUNDAY, APRIL 30TH at 4pm featuring actor, radio personality and award-winning stand-up comedian CHRIS THOMAS.
Known for his quick wit and hilarious commentary, Chris Thomas has performed on some of the biggest stages in comedy, including HBO's Def Comedy Jam, BET's Comic View, the Apollo Theater and P Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy.
Chris Thomas is also remembered as the host of BET's Rap City, where he earned the nickname "the mayor of Rap City" for his spot-on impersonations of icons like Barack Obama, Mike Tyson, Frank Sinatra, Denzel Washington, Sugar Ray Leonard and more. Now, Birmingham residents will have the chance to experience his unique brand of comedy in person.
"Chris Thomas is a living legend of hip-hop music and comedy, we're thrilled he agreed to kick off our series" said Rhashad Hicks of TheySoFunny, LLC, the organization producing this event.
Shows are scheduled every Sunday at 4pm and 6:30pm. Upcoming acts include Def Jam All-stars KENNY HOWELL, BARBARA CARLYE, MIKE BONNER & SHUCKY DUCKY. A great cast of regional comics will also perform during each show including Birmingham Native MICHAEL STATHAM. Tickets can be purchased online at www.funnybama.com.

Chris Thomas is an award-winning stand-up comedian, actor, and radio personality based in Washington D.C. He has performed with an array of artists including Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Luther Vandross and Anita Barker.
