Kazakhstan Takes Center Stage: VISA Fashion Week Almaty announces its seventh season.
The much-awaited VISA Fashion Week Almaty Season VII will be held on May 3-4, 2023 at The Ritz-Carlton Almaty. The event, which has become a staple in Kazakhstan's cultural and creative life, will showcase exclusive collections for the autumn/winter 2024 season from both local and foreign designers. This year's theme draws inspiration from the Great Silk Road, the historic trade route that connected Asia to Europe. The caravan route, which once united millions of people, will be the spotlight of the shows, bringing a new cultural dimension to the event.The seventh season of VFWA is set to impress its international audience with its grandeur and cultural significance by opening in Almaty and concluding in Tashkent with a two-days fashion shows in the Uzbek capital on May 26-27, 2023.
Bauyrzhan Shadibekov, General Director and CEO of VISA Fashion Week Almaty, expresses his excitement: "Every season reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. This year the theme of the Great Silk Road runs like a red thread through the shows held in Almaty, resonating with both Asia where it originated and Europe where it reached its final point. Amidst current circumstances, the recognition of the Silk Road as a medium of communication and connection holds particular importance for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, who value friendship, partnership, and good relations with their neighbors."
Talking about the event's concept Bauyrzhan Shadibekov adds: "Almaty will serve as the starting point of a magical oriental journey, with its rich caravans, gentle evenings and enchanting beauty, while Tashkent will continue to embrace the wanderlust of travelers and preserve centuries-old traditions in midst of an ever - changing landscape."
As Fashion Week approaches, VFWA promises to offer guests from around the world an unparalleled celebration of the best in fashion, culture, and creativity in central Asia showcasing 10 exclusive collections for the upcoming autumn/winter 2024 season, including the works of local designers Saken Zhaksybaev, SLT, Inclover, Malli, ROX, Mulida and Ray Leegs. Among the international designers are the New York-based designer Meruert Tolegen, the Ukrainian brand TG Botanical, currently winner of Copenhagen Fashion Week designers' competition and Ingorokva, the established Georgian brand known for its minimalism and geometric lines.
Not only is VFWA set to showcase the latest designs from both established and upcoming fashion houses, but it will also feature a star-studded guest list, with high-profile names from the fashion, media, photography, and business industries making this event a must-see for anyone in the fashion world.
