E. Leon Carter added to Dallas law firm’s moniker

DALLAS – The Dallas law firm Munck Butrus, P.C., is changing its name to Munck Butrus Carter, P.C., effective immediately, to reflect the addition of attorney E. Leon Carter’s name to the firm title and the continued growth of the law firm itself.

“This is a great day for Leon Carter and for the firm as a whole,” says William A. Munck, co-founder of the firm and chairman of its intellectual property section. “Leon is a tremendously talented attorney whose work, experience and skills merit this sort of recognition.”

Mr. Carter, who joined the firm in 2006, previously served as a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. He also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. He earned his law degree at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

“I’m very pleased that my fellow attorneys have chosen to include me as a name shareholder,” Mr. Carter says. “To be a part of the firm on an institutional level is something very special.”

“There’s every reason that Leon Carter’s name should be one that people hear when they learn about our firm,” says co-founder John Butrus. “Leon is a great trial lawyer and a wonderful example of the kind of litigation services we provide every day.”

To meet the needs of its growing client base, Munck Butrus Carter has grown from 24 to 33 attorneys during the past year and has opened an office in Marshall, Texas, known as the patent “rocket docket.” In addition, the firm is looking to increase the size of its office space in order to better accommodate its growing number of attorneys and staff.
