The artist collaborative “The Goldmine Shithouse” (GMSH) was created in 2003 by American artists David Hochbaum, Travis Lindquist and Colin Burns. An art idea emerged out of shere energy: every Saturday night, the artists met in their Los Angeles studio. They left the doors wide open for friends and art lovers in order to work with them on creative ideas as a team. Working “with them” meant the creation of a piece of art through the combined creativity of all artists involved. Form and outcome of the pieces were never certain at the beginning. Anything was possible: the idea might be developed on an oversized canvas or put right on the gallery walls. The more people joined in the projects, the more creative, varied and bizarre the final pieces became.
Precisely this is also about to happen at Strychnin Gallery: for two weeks, three crazy artists will live, work and sleep at Strychnin’s showroom in Berlin. Passers-by can watch the art spectacle at Boxhagener Street 36 during these creative days in Friedrichshain. The daily development and gallery mutation can be followed through the huge windows day by day.
The first invitation to Strychnin Gallery guests will be on November 16th 2007 for a T-Shirt Party: here, you will be able to take home limited and fashionable art. The artists Hochbaum, Lindquist and Burns created three different designs for the Berlin T-Shirt Party. For just 5€, you can get these designs printed on your own T-Shirt!
All three artists are internationally known. Their paintings and prints have been exposed all over Europe and the United States – lastly with huge success at this year’s art festival in Stockholm.

The artists will be present in Berlin starting November 12th 2007. The gallery will be open on Monday, November 12th 2007, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We kindly ask you to call ahead and let us know if you are planning to attend.

Strychnin Gallery is the first place in Berlin to present the exiting new art movement “Pop Surrealism“. A playground for artists from all around the globe, a place where collaboration is encouraged, new projects are constantly developed and creativity is the one and only thing that truly counts.
