Simply regal: The largest, self-use PV array in the Middle East supplies the Al Manal Palace in Amman, Jordan.

Amman / Neckarsulm, 03. December 2014 – The Jordanian Royal Family is setting a prime example for the use of the most powerful local energy source: the sun. Quality, "made in Germany" inverters then supply the electricity to the Al Manal Palace in Amman.

The Hashemites belong to one of the oldest Princely Families in the Arab World and one of their most well-known representatives in modern-day times is probably still well-remembered by many people for his efforts to establish peace in the Middle East: King Hussein I of Jordan. His brother, Prince Muhammad bin Talal, is now moving forward with the use of solar power as a peaceful energy source in Amman. Since August he has been supplying his Family Residence, the Al Manal Palace, with solar energy – generated by 540 polycrystalline modules manufactured by Realforce Power and delivered by three KACO new energy Powador 60.0 TL3 inverters. Amounting to 162 kW of installed capacity, it is today the largest "private array" in the Middle East.

Zouhair Kefi, Managing Director of KACO new energy Dubai, praised the good example of the Royal Family: "Precisely in a region where oil wealth did not only bring good fortune, the PV array on the Al Manal Palace is serving as an example to show that a prosperous future can be attained just as well with renewable energy".

As is well-known, intense solar irradiation supplies optimum energy, but simultaneously a real challenge for modules and inverters alike. Accordingly, Global Renewable Energy Systems LLC, the leading installation company, decided on the tried and tested Powador 60.0 TL3 inverters in order to guarantee long-term, reliable output from the PV array in the desert climate, which so characterises Amman.
