New IPR Challenge Process to be Main Topic of Discussion at Medical Device and Diagnostic IP/Patent Strategy Conference
(Chicago, IL) – The most pertinent information concerning the newest guidelines in the IPR challenge process will be discussed at the Medical Device and Diagnostic IP/Patent Strategy Conference, providing patent and intellectual property professionals an inside perspective directly from in-house counsel.The conference will be held March 9-10, 2015 in Arlington, Virginia, and will offer collaborative discussion on a wide variety of topics such as global patent protection strategy, recent case law, in-house budget management, and much more. Some of the most experienced and knowledgeable patent and intellectual property experts will be on hand for interactive sessions and case studies, including Ali Ahmed of Fresenius Kabi, Jamie Kemler of Stryker, and Clark Wilson of Merchant & Gould.
In light of the many recent changes as a result of the America Invents Act in 2011, this conference will provide attendees with an in-depth look at the shift to first-to-file approvals and the new IPR challenge process. Todd Baker of Oblon Spivak will lead a session and open-floor discussion that explores the examples and situations where IPR is effective, understanding success of recent IPR proceedings, and managing IPRs efficiently as an alternative to traditional litigation.
