Torsten Zimmermann: Architect of the T2 test framework technologies

28th of September 2007: Torsten Zimmermann spoke at the CONQUEST, Potsdam, and explained the T2 Effect within the test automation.

Due to the T2 Effect, Torsten Zimmermann presented the detected benefits of the T2 test tool platform engagement within the test automation. "The test automation should not only be used within test execution phases but in test preparation and completion phases, too.", said Torsten Zimmermann. "This means: Further integration leads to further benefits!", he explained. According to that, he outlined the T2 platform architecture whereas the T2 test tools support all test phases: from the first planning steps up to the test completion. The new fineplanning and environment management modules fill two control and management gaps within the test processes in a technical point of view.

About Torsten Zimmermann:

In 1993, Torsten Zimmermann begun his career after successful pass of the business related computer science study at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe. Since 1995, he dealed with the topics software quality and test management within international projects at (e.g.) BMW, DaimlerChysler, Hewlett-Packard, and Hoffmann-La Roche.

Besides of that, he invented the risk based test approach released at the "QZ" magazine. Due to practical quality management work his conclusions lead to the T1 TFT (Test Framework Technologies), which initiates a new generation of test systems.

Today, Torsten Zimmermann focuses on quality issues related to ISO, VDA, and GxP fields. He develops new concepts for more powerful test frameworks. Within his university network new solutions will be developed in the area of rule and model based test systems.

11th of May 2007, Torsten Zimmermann spoke at the Developer Day Karlsruhe convention. He presented a new test framework and its abilities. His T2 speech attracked postive attentions. In his speech, Torsten Zimmermann explained the history and the development roadmap from T1 to T2 test framework. He focused on the XML based tool independent T2 TML (Test Modeling Language).
