Air-insulated busway/bus duct are made from aluminum or copper conductors which held in place with polymer supports enclosed in an aluminum enclosure. It consist of the plastic clips which isolates the conductors keeping equally spaced between them proving air insulation. Air-insulated busway are generally used for the indoor application and are widely used in data centers, machine shops, labs etc.
• Film insulated busway
These are widely referred as sandwich type which consist of phase bars arranged together inside a non-ventilated aluminum or steel enclosure. The Sandwich type busways can be employed for the indoor, sprinkler proof or outdoor applications and are widely used to deliver power between gear using feeder pieces. It can be applicable for commercial, infrastructure, residential and industrial projects.

The applications include connections from transformers to switchgear assemblies in unit substations, connections from switchgear assemblies to generators, and tie connections between switchgear assemblies.
