Bühler Motor wins Lean & Green Management Award
Bühler Motor winning plant Monheim
Nuremberg, 3rd September 2014 – Number One in the category "Automotive Mid-Size Companies": This was the decision of the independent jury of scientists, consultants and trade journalists recognizing the achievements of Bühler Motor's Monheim plant. A total of 39 "best performers" throughout Europe had been subjected to careful scrutiny under the guidance of Growtth Consulting & Quadriga Consult.
"Efficiency in handling resources is recognized as a future business area and is a clear part of the plant strategy", the specialist jury stated in justifying its decision. The experts were particularly impressed by the company's flat hierarchies and rapid decision-making paths. In addition, "audit systems which link lean & green aspects, plus a high level of lean and logistics expertise with consistent use of value stream methods and of the pull-principle" were among the company’s accomplishments that convinced the jury.
"Lean + green = maximum resource efficiency. This formula precisely describes the approach that we too have adopted. We are extremely pleased that our efforts have met with approval under the critical gaze of the experts. This is a wonderful recognition for all our colleagues, especially those at the Monheim plant, who have played a part in winning this victory together, and a great incentive for everyone to continue moving forward along this path", underlined Peter Muhr, CEO of the Bühler Motor Group.
Five more companies in various categories, including BMW and Fiat, were also presented with the Lean & Green Management Award 2014.
