In 1989, Maya and her two daughters, Oksana and Katia, launched their first designer inspired collection of art-to-wear fur hats in Moscow under the company name “FurLand.” The Matriarch, Maya, acted as a mentor to her daughters, and taught Oksana how to run the business side of the company, while Katia designed. Katia also studied at the Moscow Art School and gained a degree in economics at the Moscow University. This family business is only run by women, and is a force in the Russian Fur accessory community.
