Berlin, May 21, 2014 — At the beginning of May Infotecs together with HMDS (Human Medical Data Service) exhibited its solutions at conhIT - Connecting Healthcare IT (on 06-08 May 2014, Messe Berlin). Infotecs, provider of the innovative IT security solutions, presented the ViPNet cryptographic solution for the healthcare and introduced the common admission note solution HMDS Diktat. HMDS and Infotecs sealed the successful exhibition collaboration with a distribution agreement.
At the beginning of May IT managers of the medical and nursing care sector as well as doctors and employees of medical facilities met at the most important event for the industry. The conhIT - Connecting Healthcare IT recorded an unusually large number of guests and confirmed IT as a driver for a sustainable healthcare.
The main subject of the common exhibition stand of HMDS and Infotecs was IT security and data protection. Infotecs security specialists presented the advanced ViPNet cryptographic solution for safe and secure transfer of sensitive data between doctors, labs, and other medical facilities. Moreover, the ViPNet technology is integrated into the common admission note solution HMDS Diktat, which allows speeding up workflow in medical practices. The doctor records the patient’s findings using a voice recorder. The digital audio file is encrypted and automatically transferred to the secretary over the Internet or Intranet. After speech recognition a text file is sent back in the same way. The ViPNet Telehealth technology was welcomed by many visitors as well. The idea is to transfer the patient’s vital signs (such as blood pressure, heart rate or body temperature) to the doctor or to the hospital over an encrypted VPN connection using a smartphone or a home PC. This solution can reduce problems related with the medical care and the shortage of doctors, particularly in rural and remote areas.
In general, Infotecs drew a positive summary after the conhIT exhibition participation and the collaboration with HMDS. The companies signed a distribution agreement at the exhibition and are going to cooperate actively in the healthcare. HMDS, IT service provider, works with an extensive network of medical practices and clinics and consults them on data security, quality management and safety of medical products. The ViPNet cryptographic solution extends the range of applications for working safely in the healthcare IT environment. Also there were some ideas on integrating the ViPNet SafeDisk software from Infotecs into the medical industry.
