Bari becomes capital of creativity, printing and packaging

A week before the international conference Doom (Design once, output many), taking place from September 27th to 29th, is opening its doors at the Cittadella della Cultura in Bari, organizers are reporting strongly growing increase of interest from entrepreneurs in Italy and around Europe, related to the programme, that is confronting all active parts of the production-workflow from graphic design over printing to distribution of a product.

Bari is turning into a protagonist with this unique event in its sector, that has received patronage from the Region of Puglia, as well as the City of Bari, the Confindustria (Industries association) as well as the Associazioni Artigiani (associations for crafts and handcrafts from the industry).

Alessandro Laterza, new president of the Confindustria of Bari and Piero Capodieci, recently elected president of Assografici (association of grafic design) have confirmed their participation. Further the president of the national corporation for graphic studies, Emanuele Piovano, accompanied by the president of the provincial committee of the same corporation, Domenico Di Marsico will be speaking about the strategic industrial values of teaching as well as holding a workshop, and therewith creating a larger platform for meeting with students of universities and high schools.

A part of the various lectures, talking about implementation of the Braille system on packaging, about varnishes on highest quality level, about problems of inks and glues in food packaging, many other current subjects, like recent legislation and testing methods, will be covered. Amongst these technical topics the scientist Felix Brunner will be giving a lecture on the quality of colour.

At the end of the afternoon of the second conference day, Friday, September 28th, a journalist of the Magazine Largo Consumo (which translates ‘large consumers world’) will be moderating a round table discussion about the problems of distribution of products to the consumer.

The programme will be rounded of on the Saturday with various talks on Marketing & Trends and is therefore also giving an outlook to the future.
