The National Fitness Hall of Fame & Museum nomination period extended through 9/30/07

Applications for induction consideration into The National Fitness Hall of Fame – Class of 2008 are now being accepted through September 30th 2007.

Each year The National Fitness Hall of Fame honors top fitness professionals and organizations that have made a considerable impact on the health & fitness of the American public.

There are five categories of induction:
Pioneers - (Global Leader, Historic Figure, Industry Transforming Invention, etc.)
Educators - (University Professor, Lecturer, Presenter, Writer, etc.)
Instructors - (Trainer, Group Leader, Video/Infomercial Instruction, Entrepreneurs, etc.)
Celebrity Spokesperson - (Attained celebrity status in area other than fitness but has a great passion for bringing fitness to the public – i.e. - Actor, Professional Athlete, Journalist, etc.)
Organizations - (Having a national following/membership and fellowship with other fitness organizations

Individuals or Organizations can apply for National Fitness Hall of Fame consideration if they meet the minimum criteria listed below:

· 20 or more years of full-time service as a professional in the fitness industry.
· The personal practice of "A Fitness Lifestyle"
· Genuine concern for the welfare of others.
· A nationally recognized, "Body of Work."

Applications must be received by 9/30/07. Voting takes place in October and selection notification is posted by November. The complete selection and voting process, as well as an application, can be found at the NFHOF&M website: www.nationalfitnessmuseum.com

The 2008 National Fitness Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Oak Meadow Golf Club in Addison, Illinois on March 16th, 2008. (Seated is limited and advanced ticket purchase is required).

Past HOF inductees include such notables as: Jack Lalanne, Joe Weider, Jane Fonda, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gin Miller, Tony Little, Bonnie Prudden, Gilad Janklowicz, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, John Abdo, Dr. Steven Blair, the ACSM and others.
