Over 70% of European professional boat owners have joined Click&Boat

From a P2P model to European leadership, the evolution of the Click&Boat platform is strongly linked to the satisfaction of an ever-growing demand from renters and boat owners. In the UK alone, the boat rental platform has seen its number of reservations almost triple and its traffic multiplied by 2.

"Click&Boat has become the sales department of our rental agency. This association allows us to increase our turnover and to focus even more on our fleet, logistics and, above all, service, to maximise each customer experience", says Phillipe Richard, a professional owner based in Hyères, the second most booked destination on Click&Boat in France.

A virtuous circle

Nicknamed the "Airbnb of boats" at its inception in 2014, Click&Boat now connects more than one million renters, thanks in particular to the skippered rental option, and works with more than 70% of the entire European professional fleet. A booming market: the 2022 season will end with the highest annual number of bookings. For the UK, bookings have increased by 172%, with Spain being the top destination, followed by both Italy and Greece.

Professional boat rental companies from the UK and more than 100 other countries joined the platform at the end of 2017. The millions of unique annual visitors (over 10 million by 2022) online, both French and international, were a key argument for joining the adventure, but far from the only one.

A transformed business for professionals
The prevalence of mobile phones for booking holidays, and the instantaneous responsiveness required via the application: in Click&Boat they have found a key business contributor to devoting more time to the customer experience. Working with a fully digital platform such as Click&Boat, while the yachting market is only 20% digital, also represents a considerable opportunity to remain competitive.

In Sardinia, Gianni Frigolini, who has been active in the market since 1989, has experienced the digital shift first-hand. He confirms the growing increase in bookings with Click&Boat and the reduction in the time taken by customers to find a boat. The growth of the service benefits the boating industry, but also local tourism, thanks to the new flow of foreign boaters. "The business is more international than ever. The Italians come in August, while the Germans, Dutch, Swiss and French are very present in the low season," says Gianni.

Private owners complete a very versatile global offer. They continue to pay off their maintenance costs as a priority, while some are turning professional thanks to the success of their business with the platform.
