Ukrainian AI startup Respeecher credited in God of War Ragnarok - the most anticipated game of a year

God of War is one of the most anticipated games of the year and has the most extensive number of awards. On November 9, PlayStation and Sony Santa Monica released God of War Ragnarök on the PS4 and PS5 platforms. However, there were Ukrainians in the credits: Respeecher and one of their synthetic speech artists, Valerii Zablotskyi-Drohan, are mentioned in the credits of the game. Most recently, their team also created the AI ​​voice of Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.

This is the first AAA video game where Respeecher was credited. However, earlier, the startup had already worked with large-scale and Hollywood projects, in particular, it created voices for Star Wars characters like the voice of Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian and The Book Boba Fett and Darth's Vader voice.

"This is one of the biggest projects in 2022 for us. From the very beginning, it was clear that the work on God of War Ragnarok would be meticulous, because it is the most anticipated release of the fall for all gamers, so it was challenging. The sound quality of the game, as always with Respeecher, is top-notch. In addition, the volume of voice-overs was quite large there. And the project itself, opens a new page for creators and voice actors, we will disclose more details soon. Especially now, it's extremely important to see Ukrainians credited in such large-scale project like the God Of War, as it draws attention to Ukraine as a world-class hub of talents and unique technologies. On the first day, the game received positive reviews from critics and gamers, and the media already claimed it the most legendary game of the year. The game also has a score of 94 from 126 critics on Metacritic.

Respeecher is a Ukrainian startup that uses artificial intelligence to allow one person to speak in the voice of another. The product was created in 2018 by Oleksandr Serdiuk, Dmytro Bielievtsov and Grant Reaber. Respeecher team created AI voices for Star Wars movies characters - the voices of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. In 2021 Respeecher won Emmy Awards.
