Press release from: Managing Editor Inc.

Jenkintown, PA (February 11, 2014) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), a leading provider of digital publishing and workflow solutions, today announced the release of TruEdit®, its latest collaborative workflow system. TruEdit is a cloud-based platform for planning, creating, managing and delivering multi-channel content via its web client and Adobe InDesign® Plug-in. Additionally, TruEdit comes equipped with powerful automations for streamlined output to the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite™ (DPS), enhancing the process of creating digital publications for tablet and mobile.

TruEdit provides a shared, central location for teams to manage projects and digital assets from start to finish using three key components: the TruEdit InDesign Plug-in, Web client and Admin portal. Compatible with all digital environments, including tablets, team members can use the InDesign Plug-in or Web client to check their assigned tasks in and out of TruEdit for secure file management. Team members can update with statuses to advance from one stage of production to the next. Team members can also add and share notes with their team in order to present vital information at a glance.

The browser-based TruEdit Admin portal allows team administrators to manage their entire operation, from user roles and privileges to configuring workflow structures and management for projects and files. These specifications and workflows can be customized in the Admin portal, or administrators can choose to start from a prebuilt configuration template.

TruEdit tightly integrates with Adobe DPS to provide convenient automations. Teams creating digital publications in DPS can work within TruEdit to separate the process of folio bundling from uploading to Adobe’s DPS server, expediting production by allowing InDesign to run uninterrupted during uploads. TruEdit also lets team members add custom metadata during folio content creation, distributing production responsibilities to increase efficiency.

"As companies feel the push to produce more content, the pressure is on for internal and external resources to work together to create content for multiple brands, audiences and channels, all at a lower cost,” said Mark Leister, MEI’s senior vice president of business development. "TruEdit brings these elements together into a centralized, structured working environment and lets teams efficiently create, manage and deliver projects.”
