Pro Art Gallery Presents a ‘Solo Exhibition by Richard Allenby - Pratt’

Dubai, UAE, 8th January 2014: Pro Art Gallery, synonymous with innovative art and collectibles is proud to announce the opening of its next solo exhibition by a British award winning photographer and artist, Richard Allenby-Pratt. The exhibition will feature his amazing works of photography.

The solo exhibition by Richard Allenby-Pratt’ will have a special opening night on January 8, 2014 at 7:30 pm and will run till January 23, 2014 at Palm Strip Shopping Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah1.

Richard Allenby-Pratt’s 'Abandoned' show is a highly noted and awarded project which focuses on his Dubai based photographic art. The project is an imaginative Dubai without people and inhabited by previously captive exotic animals. These photographs received international acclaim over the past years, sparking extensive discussions about our shared urban and environmental future as a human species.

Biography:
Richard Allenby-Pratt is a British photographer who has been based in Dubai since 2000. 'Abandoned' is his second solo exhibition, the first being 'Community 366' in March 2009, which was a public space installation, supported by Dubai Culture and Art Authority, on the beach adjacent to the Burj Al Arab and depicting the older neighborhood nearby. Richard has worked in commercial photography since 1988 when he moved to London from rural West England. As well as working in the design and advertising sectors, he has also shot editorial features for The Guardian, The New York Times, Der Spiegel and Time Magazine, to name but a few. In recent years he has concentrated more on his personal conceptual projects, and is increasingly interested in subjects relating to economics and sustainability.
