Press release from: MARVIN Media

Los Angeles, CA - October 17, 2022 - MARVIN Media and Porsche Cars North America, Inc., are teaming up for another episode of Sound and Driven™- a series of short films featuring some of music's most respected artists and producers as they take their records on the legendary car test. Historically, artists and producers would jump in a car and drive to give their finished record an intimate listen before giving it the final approval. This time, the setting is a 2022 Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo.

Sound and Driven™ follows a carefully curated selection of artists and producers on a journey around Los Angeles in a Porsche Taycan as they discuss the magic behind their collaboration. The curtain is pulled back as we learn about the inspiration behind the music, working together, how the record was made, and how they approached it creatively and technically.

For the sixth episode of Sound and Driven™, Porsche invites us to join singer and songwriter Victoria Monét and record producer D'Mile, as they drive through Los Angeles to car test their latest work, after a recording session at the iconic Larrabee Studios in North Hollywood.

"The car test: that will tell you everything you need to know," said Monét. "Sometimes when you're in the studio, in the environment and maybe people are hyping you up, it sounds like you created a masterpiece. But then when you get in your car on the way home , you're like…maybe not."

There's no doubt the car test is a vital step in the creative process for musicians, as the episode opens up with Monét explaining the process once the studio session is over.

The rapport both Monet and D'Mile have built is evident in their easy conversation and mentions of feeling like family after working with each other on and off over the years.

"Sometimes I like to get in a room and we might not work for the first hour, we might just be talking," explains D'Mile on his approach to producing an artist. "The best way to get the best stuff is to really build that relationship; n ow you know the things they want to talk about and what's in their heart."

Marvin Scott Jarrett, co-founder of MARVIN Media and executive producer of Sound and Driven says: "We are equally excited about collaborating with Porsche on the Sound and Driven series. Victoria is the perfect artist to highlight in Sound and Driven Episode 6."

Each of the (8) 10-minute episodes within the series will be featured on the Porsche Brand Hub and social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) with a reach of 37M+, along with MARVIN's website, YouTube, and social media channels.
