German Horse Center Challenge 2014 on Facebook
Riders can compete in four riding tests by video submission and can also follow with excitement how other riders and horses from around the world solve the tests.
The main focus is on having fun with one’s horse, as well as the excitement of experiencing a unique type of online event, which aims to provide some variety for equestrian fans around the world during the winter months.
How it works
Everyone can participate: Competitive and leisure riders, clubs and school riders with horses of all breeds are allowed.
1. Riders can download the riding tests from facebook.com/germanhorsecenter
2. They will ride the tests on camera.
3. The participants will upload their video to YouTube and submit the link to the YouTube video, as well as details about the horse and rider, using the German Horse Center Facebook entry form.
4. Following the deadline for submitting videos, every rider will receive personalized feedback about the performance.
The official event language is English. Riding tests will be available in German and English.
The riding tests
Riding tests will be designed to include as many riders as possible. For example, all tests can be performed in a 20 x 40 m arena.
Riders will have a choice of four different tests: a preliminary or medium dressage test, a 95 cm or 1.10 m style jumping course.
Candidates should adhere to the classical riding style showing their horses with suppleness and in harmony.
The priority for German Horse Center is that both horse and rider should have fun when performing the tasks. The main prize for each and every rider is the feedback they receive from top trainers. And the winners will also receive personal prizes. Virtual ribbons for Facebook profile pictures will also be awarded.
Key dates for the Challenge
14 January 2014: German Horse Center presents the jury.
31 January 2014: The riding tests will be published and the Challenge officially begins.
15 March 2014 (24:00 midnight GMT+1): Deadline for submitting videos.
From 24 March, 2014: The jury will provide feedback to the participants.
From 2 April 2014: Notification of winners and other top placings.
