New eBook: Digital Competence Development viewed by the German-Speaking World's Top Association for HR Managers (BPM)

Released today in HANSER publishing, the eBook: "Digital Competence Development from the Viewpoint of the German Association of Personnel Managers BPM Berlin" by Steffen Fischer, Head of the Specialist Group Strategic Personnel Management at the German Association of Personnel Managers (BPM) and Managing Director HR at ifm group services gmbh. This eBook is also available as a chapter in the new book "Digital Competence and Future Skills" from award-winning digital skills expert and publishing editor Dr. Philipp Ramin, CEO of i40.de

BPM is the largest membership association for human resource managers and professionals from companies, associations, and organizations in the German-speaking world. It provides its members with exchange platforms for opinions, experiences, and knowledge and informs them about important and current topics in human resource management. In 2022, BPM posed its members a number of highly relevant questions, including whether there are already established digital concepts or a digital strategy in their companies, how the development of digital competencies currently takes place, what the primary challenges are in the development of digital competencies and what the central success factors are. From this emerged a snapshot of current corporate upskilling for digital transformation.

With this eBook Steffen Fischer shares with us BPM's key findings, examples of implementation and strategic questions as a basis for company-oriented future competence development and much more.

"In light of the rapid digital development, the pressure of competition, digital standards at interfaces, and for reasons of efficiency, companies cannot ignore this digital evolution and are confronted with the question of how to qualify their staff accordingly. In doing so, a one-sided focus on digital formats does not go far enough. Instead, a good combination of specialist knowledge, IT knowledge, as well as social and personal competencies constitutes the new educational canon for the digital world of work." Steffen Fischer, Head of the Specialist Group Strategic Personnel Management at the German Association of Personnel Managers (BPM) and Managing Director HR at ifm group services gmbh.

"From our own experience as a future skills company - training over 250.000 employees in companies worldwide - we know that without a strategic and holistic approach to future learning, digital competence development is doomed to fail. To be successful, digital competence and future skills development programs must be based on a complete understanding of the respective individual corporate environment and corporate culture, in which they take place. This requires an individual upskilling strategy that takes the value creation process of the company and individual learning journeys of employees and leaders into consideration and at the same time continually activates learning motivation and manages competencies for future development. For this reason, the findings of BPM in Steffen Fischer's inspiring eBook are of particular significance, not only to the companies that participated in the survey behind these findings, but to each and every company tasked with or planning upskilling for digital transformation. We are delighted that this eBook is also a chapter in our new book "Digital Competence and Future Skills"- recently released by Hanser Publishing", Dr. Philipp Ramin, CEO and Founder of i40, the future skills company.

With 50 TOP AUTHORS from leading companies and institutions: "Digital Competence and Future Skills - How companies prepare themselves for the digital future" (HANSER publishing company) - from the award-winning publishing editor: Dr. Philipp Ramin, CEO, Innovation Center for Industry 4.0 (i40) - is a compendium for all those involved in talent development for digital transformation and digitalization. One complete chapter in the book is dedicated to the renowned eLearning Award Project of the Year 2022.
