MVTec Presents HALCON USB3 Vision Interface and 3D Vision Technology

As of now, the new universal HALCON image acquisition interface for USB3 Vision is available. This interface will be presented by MVTec in a live demo at the SPS IPS DRIVES in November 2013 in Nuremberg.

Furthermore, MVTec will showcase the 3D vision technology of HALCON 11. Key benefits of the new USB3 Vision Standard are the high bandwidth in excess of 350 MB/s and an easy-to-use plug and play interface. Moreover, power and data are carried via the same cable. Easy software access is managed by the well-established GenICam programming interface.

With USB3 Vision, hardware and software from different vendors work seamlessly over USB 3.0 connections. Most recently, the “HALCON USB3Vision interface” has been officially validated by the AIA test procedures. In particular it was successfully tested at the AIA plugfest on October 23, 2013 with Basler, Baumer, MATRIX VISION, Point Grey, and XIMEA cameras. The interface is available for HALCON 11 on Windows 7/8 (32-bit and 64-bit).

From the HALCON user's point of view, the new interface to USB3 Vision is very similar to the existing interfaces to GigE Vision and GenICam GenTL.
In addition to the USB3 Vision topic, MVTec will showcase HALCON’s surface–based 3D matching life in a configuration with a 3D sensor.

Furthermore, MVTec will participate in the forum of the VDMA. At this booth, MVTec gives a lecture on "Identification without bar codes or data codes" (hall 3, booth 618).
