Meet the real House, M.D. - Now with privateGP

At first, the human resources department of www.private-GP.org thought it was a joke, but the application turned out to be legitimate: one Gregory House, M.D. applied to the telemedicine platform "privateGP". House, or "Dr. House" in Europe, was the most successful series about a doctor in the entire history of television. The protagonist was the diagnostician Gregory House, M.D., who was as brilliant as he was eccentric in character - the way the series was made, with 177 episodes, followed scripts similar to a Sherlock Holmes setting.

And now, one day, just like that, a Dr. Gregory House, M.D. contacts www.private-GP.org and wants to join the platform. After verifying that the application was no joke and that the applicant was a respectable general practitioner, the privateGP team was like, "why not?".

It turned out that the real Dr. Gregory House, M.D. has even more academic achievements than his fictitious namesake. But above all, the real House, M.D. is an empathetic and compassionate fellow. In the television series, Dr. House is an unconventional physician who often shocks patients, relatives and his own diagnostic team with his unorthodox personality. Nevertheless, the fictitious Gregory House, M.D. is considered a genius in the field of diagnostics and saves countless lives in the course of the series.

In real life, Dr. Gregory House may not be a genius, but he is a responsible, thoughtful and careful family doctor and general practitioner. However, real Gregory House has adopted one trait from his namesake. "It is extremely important in medicine not only to have knowledge, but also to tie up the loose ends, to understand the symptoms, in order to arrive at the right diagnosis. Just having textbook knowledge doesn't make you a good doctor," the real Dr. Gregory House, M.D. believes.

So far, so good. The only sad fact is that the real Gregory House will not be practicing in North America for the time being. He has moved back to Europe, where a large part of his family lives. So you have to be a European to be able to say: "I was treated by Gregory House, M.D."

Real Dr. House does not want to rule out a return to North America in principle, but it is not on the agenda for him, stresses Gregory, who recently became a father for the second time.
