Flow meters SDMKR from Stauff determine flow, pressure and temperature

Flow meters SDMKR from Stauff determine flow, pressure and temperature

The Stauff type SDMKR reversible flow device has been developed for rapid and accurate monitoring of hydraulic components and systems in mobile hydraulic systems. The design of the hydraulic tester allows combined measurement of flow, pressure, and temperature.

The device makes it possible for maintenance professionals to determine the performance of pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and complete systems, and to ensure that these are functioning properly – directly on site or in the workshop. Potential weaknesses in the hydraulic system can thus be detected at an early stage, unscheduled machine downtime can be avoided, and maintenance costs reduced.

The operation of the hydraulic tester is based solely on mechanical principles: It can be used independently of any internal or external power supply, thus providing maximum flexibility.

Central to the device is a flow meter with a visual display and built-in thermometer, as well as a pressure valve, which makes it possible to increase the working pressure gradually and continuously up to 420 bar in order to provide a realistic simulation of regular machine operation. The pressure changes are documented by a stainless steel pressure gauge located at the inlet of the pressure valve. Two interchangeable burst discs act as internal safety equipment, effectively protecting the device against damage due to excess pressure.

Unlike other comparable devices on the market, the SDMKR also permits flow in the opposite direction. This enables hydraulic cylinders to be lowered during the system test, for example. In this case, however, the flow meter does not provide a display value.

Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG was founded in the 1950s in Werdohl, in the German province of North Rhine-Westphalia, and was initially a contract turning shop. Today the company operates under the trade name STAUFF, developing, producing and marketing fluid technology components for use in plant construction and mechanical engineering. In the fields of tube, pipe and hose clamps, measuring technology and hydraulic filtration, STAUFF is one of the world’s leading organisations in a growing industrial segment.

Meanwhile, more than 1200 employees (12/2012) in 18 companies generate an annual turnover of more than EUR 190 million (12/2012) worldwide. Additional distribution subsidiaries have recently been opened in Ireland, Malaysia and Vietnam. Besides the group headquarters in Werdohl Ehrenfeld, the company has production and logistics facilities in the German cities of Plettenberg-Ohle and Neuenrade-Küntrop.

More Releases for SDMKR

Mechanical hydraulic testers determine flow, pressure and temperature
The SDMKR reversible flow device that Stauff is debuting at the Hanover and Bauma trade fairs in April 2013 has been developed for the rapid and accurate monitoring of hydraulic components and systems in mobile hydraulics systems. The unique design allows the simultaneous measurement of the three parameters most important for the proper functioning of the system: flow, pressure and temperature. The device makes it possible for maintenance professionals to
