Press release from: Your Resin Driveway

Most homeowners think about how to deal with the snow and would love to eliminate the idea of winter shoveling and this can be possible with a heated driveway. The heated driveways function by acting like a radiant heating flooring able to melt snow from your driveway and so save you that tasking chore of clearing the snow on your own. With a heated driveway, it is like flipping a switch and also the snow melts away so you don't have to subject yourself to heavy clothing and boots just to remove the snow manually.

Typically, a heated driveway costs between $1,300 and $7,500 with the national average at about $3,900. In general, a heated driveway will cost you between $12 and $21 per square foot- this includes materials and installation. Usually, installing a heated driveway will often cost twice or three times as much as a regular driveway.

Factors That Determine Your Heated Driveway Cost
There are different factors which will impact on the overall cost of your heated driveway such as regional disparities which will affect cost of labour, access to your home location especially if it's in a remote place, size of your driveway, etc.
Driveway Size
Heated driveway systems can cost from $12 to $21 per square foot, including materials and installation. Usually, longer, wider driveways which have a greater square footage will cost more than smaller, one-car driveways. Additionally, irregular shaped driveways with curves will cost more than straight driveways.

Driveway Material
Your choice of driveway material will have an impact on the cost of your driveway as the material type determines the cost of heating it. Usually, asphalt driveways are more expensive than concrete driveways without snow-melting systems.
Installing a heated concrete driveway costs an average of $7,550, while that of asphalt is $8,600 but can also range from $2,000 to $25,000.

Type of Heating System
An electric system or a hydronic system can be used to heat your driveway. While the electric system relies on electricity to heat coils beneath the driveway surface to melt snow, the hydronic system uses boiling water flowing through embedded pipes to heat the driveway. Typically, a hydronic system costs 30 to 50 percent more than an electric system with the installation of a new boiler unit coming at additional cost.

Drainage
You will need to install an additional drainage if there is not adequate draining on the driveway slope so that the melted snow can be channeled away to prevent refreeze as hazardous black ice.
You may need to dig a trench to allow for runoff or install a drainage system usually at a cost averaging between $1,000 and $4,000. You may also have to heat the pipes and gutters used for drainage to prevent ice blockages.
Labor, Installation, and Materials
If there is a need to demolish an existing driveway, it will impact on the cost of the driveway. Also, due to the higher cost of living, metropolitan areas typically have higher installation rates than remote areas. Although a surcharge may be added for distance travelled by the installation crew.

Other Additional Costs and Considerations include;
If it is a New Driveway or a Retrofit
Manual vs. Automated Controls
Design Elements such as stamped or stained concrete which could add an extra cost of $4 to $8 per square foot, or a border of stone or brick pavers which comes at an additional $10 to $17 per square foot.
Operating Expenses depending on the electrical costs where you live and how much snow you get. For instance, it may cost you 120 to $600 per winter season to heat a 1,000-square-foot driveway.
Occasional Maintenance especially when you may have to replace the electrical control board or replace a ruptured tubing. Usually, heated driveways are maintenance-free.
Benefits of Installing a Heated Driveway
Reduced Shoveling
Increased Safety against slip-and-fall injuries
Damage Protection from rock salt and other de-icing chemicals which could damage concrete, landscaping and vehicles over time.
Little to No Maintenance
Added Value to Home
How to Save Money on Heated Driveway Cost
Do the demo yourself.
Skip the sidewalks.
Heat only one lane that receives most traffic
Just heat tire grooves if you don't see regular heavy snowfall but still want to get your car in and out easily when there is snow.

As a Result of New Restrictions in the UK, Paved Driveways Could Soon Be Banned
As a result of new restrictions around river pollution, homebuilders could face a paved driveway ban. This comes as the government is looking at forming new driveway rules to help clean up the UK's waterways as well as builders' 'right to connect' to sewage networks. Solid paved driveway ideas do not allow water to soak into the ground and rely on drains and so they can create excess water. This can
