BMW R1200GS LC conversion by Hornig

The company Hornig addresses the task of designing the BMW R 1200 GS LC new and individual. Particular attention was paid to the areas of security and comfort. You could marvel at this unique at the BMW Motorrad Days 2013 in Garmisch-Patenkirchen for the first time.

When focusing on the security aspect the gaze first falls on the Nautilus horn with its stainless steel mounting, the wiring kit as well as on a BMW plug for simple installation. Further safety arrangements are a crash bar, which can be combined with a fairing crash bar, one more Cardan crash protector and an oil filler plug, which can only be opened with tools. Additionally a side stand foot enlargement, which can be made higher, was installed.

Details also contribute to the improvement of safety standards: Such as the added mirror extension, which allows a perfect rear-view or the GPS-mounting, which is placed over the tachometer. Hornig selected this position consciously because with this solution the driver has an ideal view on the navigation system as well as on the street. The easy installable cooler and air intake grids, which affect a reduced service and clean effort, have to be mentioned too.

Especially external the “new invented” BMW R 1200 GS LC shows mentionable effects: For example the side cover parts, made of carbon, offer highest quality, stability and lightness or the aluminum milling and lathe parts to close holes and boreholes visually very appealing. The installed Remus HexaCone Titanium illustrates due to the sound the speciality of this moulded R 1200 GS LC version.

To meet the comfort needs the motorcycle specialists of Hornig offer the possibility to customize your own seat according to individual requirements and create in this way a perfect seat, which should not be underestimated, related to ergonomic aspects. The handlebar bag offers more storage space and blends perfectly into the general view.

Hornig is producing special parts and accessories for BMW motorcycles since 2001. They have come up with this idea because of their passion for motorcycling and expand their range of specific products, as well as by the new BMW models.

In 2010 they moved to their new building to Cham, Germany, in order to ship the BMW Motorcycle Accessory even faster to all the customers in the whole world. They have about 2.000 sqm space in the new building and next to a state of the art logistic they offer their customers even a cafeteria to relax from a curvy tour.
