Cambodia's Yi Family Homestay & Bungalows Debuts Discounts for Volunteers Returning to Siem Reap

Siem Reap, CAMBODIA - September 4, 2022 -
Volunteers and humanitarian workers who are returning to Cambodia, and the region's treasure - Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat - are being welcomed by a family-run homestay offering private studio-sized room and bungalows immersed in a village setting.
Many of the NGO staff and volunteers who worked remotely or could only visit briefly during the pandemic are now staying for extended visits or returning to their workplaces full-time.
Yi Family Homestay is offering them discounts on accommodations as well as free bicycles for a single night, week-long or monthly stays, until the end of this year. The discounts apply to direct bookings and do not require deposits.
"We want to extend our hospitality and gratitude to the volunteers and humanitarians who have contributed so much to the development of Cambodia, especially those who work in rural areas," explains Moi Hay, who operates Yi Family Homestay and Bungalows with her husband Sam Yang.

The homestay is offering 15 percent discounts on direct bookings for its five budget rooms in the main house and the seven studio-sized apartments, most of which include kitchenettes and overlook the garden. (Direct bookings can be made by email, WhatsApp, Facebook or through the homestay's website. Although no down payment is required, notification of cancellations or delays in arrival would be deeply appreciated.)
Although discounts are available for the five bungalows, they are fully booked till the end of this month.
Free Wi-Fi, bicycles, and filtered water are included. Volunteers are also welcome to join the Yi family for weekly dinners on the sunset deck for as little as $5 per person to cover the cost of a three-course meal. Breakfast, lunches, and dinners range from USD 3-5 per meal.
The discounts also apply to volunteers and NGO workers based in Phnom Penh who visit Siem Reap for work or a much-needed break.
Sustainable Living
The homestay, conveniently located near Siem Reap town, immerses guests in a village ambiance.
"We focus on sustainable living - through solar energy, recycling, and composting - to protect the natural treasures of Siem Reap," explained Sam Yang.
"Our commitment to the welfare and happiness of our guests allowed us to continue operating fully during the pandemic. Several volunteers developed a new website for us for free to express their gratitude. This is our way of returning the favor."
About Yi Family Homestay and Bungalows
Our homestay opened its gate in 2017 with the goal of immersing visitors in a village atmosphere just minutes from Siem Reap town and Angkor Wat. We offer hygienic, secure and private accommodation for all guests, including children and pets.
Accommodations range from cottages, studio-sized rooms (most with kitchenettes), and cozier budget units in our traditional family home.
Our homestay is also a permaculture farm operated by three generations of our family. We have livestock, fruit trees, vegetable gardens and an abundance of foliage, which enhances the natural ambience as well as guests' privacy.
