ADATA Launches Its First Industrial-Grade PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe SSD

Taipei, Taiwan - August 23, 2022 - ADATA Technology, a leading manufacturer of industrial-grade DRAM modules and NAND Flash products today announces its first 4 TB (terabyte) industrial-grade PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe M.2 2280 solid state drive, the IM2P41B8. Utilizing the ultra-high-speed PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe interface, it delivers excellent read/write performance for processing large data loads, and the durability and security for surveillance, onboard infotainment, and edge cloud market.

Thanks to the prevailing deployment of 5G/IoT at the edge, the data storage capacity at the edge is increasing due to privacy and security reasons. It requires high-capacity, high-speed, encryption, error correction, and more. With the introduction of high-speed PCIe Gen4x4 and high-density of NAND flash, ADATA presents the very first industrial-grade NVMe 4 TB SSD to the market with rich security features.

This PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe 112-layer 3D TLC SSD offers 230% higher performance than PCIe Gen3. The random read/write speed goes up to 220,000/175,000 IPOS and the sustained read/write speed goes up to 7000/6500MB/s. The DRAM buffering is especially added for the industries which require low-latency real-time experience.

The industrial features such as LDPC EEC, and RAID Engine are fulling realized here. Though the product itself supports wide temperature tolerance (-40 °C to 85 °C), ADATA still added a thermal throttling feature in this model to make system run without unexpected disturbance of temperature. Not to mention the security features, such as End-to-End Data Path Protection, AES 256-bit encryption, and TCG Opal, are all in this small M.2 SSD.

There are multiple software tool kits are available for manufacturers' in-house integration, such as A+ SSD Tool and A+Opal.

IM2P31B8 is a product aimed at industrial market along with all other ADATA Industrial lines. The product provides longevity, firmware customization, and engineering support.
