Evan Guthrie Law Firm Talks About Lawyers At High Learning Academy Event In Summerville, SC

Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students about lawyers and the law profession at the Higher Learning Academy at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville, SC on Saturday April 13, 2013. The Higher Learning Academy is put on by the Dorchester County District Two School District and helps high school students prepare for college and careers by partnering with local business and professional leaders. Students from Ashley Ridge High School, Fort Dorchester High School, and Summerville High School were in attendance and were able to gain knowledge from several information sessions and local businesses in attendance. Attorney Evan Guthrie represented the legal profession at the educational event and was made available to interact with students and their parents that had an interest or questions about the law. Questions ranged from how long after high school does it take to become a lawyer, what is the average starting salary in the legal profession, to how to best prepare for a career in law as a high school student.

Mr. Guthrie’s law firm was among several businesses in attendance including Boeing and several colleges that were able to speak to students. This was the third time that attorney Guthrie participated in Higher Learning Academy event at Ashley Ridge and the second overall year that he has been a part of the program. Mr. Guthrie enjoyed being able to come back and speak and potentially inspire students to potentially consider a career in law. Attorney Guthrie was happy to be able to give back to local schools and be a part of such a great event and looks forward to being able to come back and speak again in the future.
