Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav School of Excellence JMA Pilani Celebrates 76th Independence Day

The celebrations happen with great zeal and gusto across all latitudes, longitudes and altitudes across the globe even though the official celebration for the day happens at Red Fort New Delhi. JMA Pilani has a rich tradition of celebrating various days of national and international significance throughout the year. On 15 Aug 2022, a colorful function was organized to celebrate 76th India Independence Day.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of it's people, culture and achievements. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of activating India 2.0, fueled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on 12th March 2021 which started a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on 15th August 2023. Following are the five themes of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which means elixir of energy of independence; elixir of inspirations of the warriors of freedom struggle; elixir of new ideas and pledges; and elixir of Aatmanirbhar.

Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy - JMA was established in the year 2004 at Pilani which is considered as Oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan. It is a matter of great pride that JMA alumni are presently pursuing higher education in various institutions which include BITS Pilani and NAAC A++ Banasthali Vidyapith ranked among top Women universities in the world. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Eminent Scientist and Distinguished Alumnus of BITS Pilani Prof Chandrasekhar who had also been the Director of CSIR CEERI Pilani.

The Chief Guest was received with traditional honour of tilak, hand bandhej safa and bouquet. The tiranga rangoli highlighting E=MC Squared by Aayan Sharma to welcome the scientist was befitting indeed. He hoisted the tiranga and the school band played the national anthem. Principal Smt Booma Natarajan in her welcome address highlighted the significance of the day and highlighted the great achievements of the chief guest. The Chief Guest inspected the parade and took the salute at the march past.

The patriotic song had the audience peaking with pride of the nation and the feeling that nation is indeed above all. The speech in Hindi by Devyani Tawar was hugely appreciated. The band display was spectacular while Yoga and karate display were spellbinding. The inspiring words of the Chief Guest loaded with science is bound to motivate the students to be dreamers, performers and achievers. He also congratulated the principal and team JMA for putting up an excellent event to perfection.

The program was anchored with aplomb by Hindi Teacher Mahender Kumar. After customary vote of thanks by Smt Sushma Sharma, the teachers and staff of Jamuna Mishra Academy which is popularly known as school with 100% results in Board Examinations along with parents and students who attended the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav celebrations left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani Rajasthan.
