SEPT 21: 'Surviving Cancer' Author Kevin Murphy Speaks to Irish Cancer Society
Award-winning U.S. author Kevin Murphy speaks to the Irish Cancer Society’s 50th anniversary conference about “Surviving Cancer after Surviving Cancer” on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 9:40 AM.Dublin, Ireland, September 17, 2013 -- U.S. author Kevin Murphy will speak to the Irish Cancer Society in Dublin, Ireland about Surviving Cancer after Surviving Cancer on Saturday, September 21 at 9:40 AM.
Cancer harms many marriages. When wives get cancer, divorce is six times more likely. Why? Kevin Murphy’s book, Surviving Cancer after Surviving Cancer, provides a road map to bridge the emotional gaps that too often isolate cancer patients from their spouses, families, friends and coworkers.
Surviving Cancer is winner of the Mom’s Choice Gold Award for Adult Books-Life’s Transitions and winner of the International Book Awards for Health-Cancer.
As a former truck driver, a former firefighter and a practicing attorney, Murphy relates to many men who can be tough on the job but crumble inside when cancer attacks their loved ones. When Murphy’s wife had cancer, he dismissed warnings about the risk of divorce but now helps families to avoid heartache, find happiness and heal from the trauma of cancer.
Murphy says he is honored to address the Irish Cancer Society, always happy to travel from Kentucky to the home country of his ancestors and he will sign books at the conference.
