2006 & 2007 BMW M5 Gains 20.7 Horsepower with K&N Aftermarket Air Intake
K&N Engineering's 69-2003TFK
K&N dynamo tests show a 20.77 HP gain at 5700 rpm. The M5 is a dual throttle body car, so the K&N Air Intake System is also dual to match the stock system. There are two short ram intake systems that include two flat black aluminum tubes, two K&N Lifetime Air Filters (RU-5147) and two powder coated steel heat shields.
In addition to the incredible power gains, K&N Air Intakes are also designed to increase air filtering capacity and to improve throttle response. The heat shields are engineered to isolate the oversized K&N Air Filters from engine bay heat. This intake also makes use of the M5's factory fresh air ducts to provide cooler outside air to the individual K&N Air Filters translating into more power.
The 69-2003TFK comes with two air intakes placed in opposite corners near the fender wells behind the headlights of the M5. The MAF sensor adaptors are precision CNC machined, 6061 billet aluminum for accurate Mass Air Flow sensor readings.
It takes about 90 minutes to install this K&N Air Intake. The install does not remove the stock intake plenums which keep a clean look under the hood. This K&N Air Intake System, like all other K&N Air Intake Systems is backed by the famous K&N 1,000,000 Mile Limited Warranty.
