Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop Utilizes Google Glass To Enhance Training

National Sub Franchise’s CIO Makes The Most Of Google’s Latest Product Test

LAS VEGAS (August 12, 2013) – Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is using Google’s latest breakthrough product, Google Glass, to further strengthen the national sandwich franchise’s training program. Capriotti’s CIO, CMO and Executive VP, Jason Smylie was hand-picked to receive Google Glass through the tech giant’s #ifihadglass promotion. Since acquiring the high-tech glasses, Smylie and the executive team have designed a new way to further strengthen the national sandwich franchise’s training program by giving franchisees and sandwich makers a firsthand perspective on what goes into crafting their award-winning subs.

Capriotti’s is committed to reaching new levels of success and through the incorporation of technology into its training program. Recently having replaced their new franchise operations manuals with iPads, Capriotti’s continues their technological advancement with Google’s hot new product. Smylie is using Glass to record exactly how the company’s proprietary subs are constructed from the sandwich maker’s point of view. Known for their notable sandwich The Bobbie, which is strategically layered with a touch of mayo, fresh in-house roasted turkey, homemade stuffing and cranberry sauce, Capriotti’s looks to enhance consistency amongst the brand’s signature menu options by providing their over 90 locations with this footage.

“Using Google Glass, we are blending technology with food service to create unique, impactful training videos that we think will really be a hit with our employees,” said Jason Smylie, CIO, CMO and Executive VP of Capriotti’s. “Our training program is key for Capriotti’s team members to guarantee our customers with fresh food and great service. We anticipate a great response from our staff about the updated instructional videos and hope the new program will lead to even more satisfied customers.”
