Eberspaecher at IAA Cars 2013: new approaches in Exhaust Technology as well as the coming generations of heaters

The 65th IAA Cars will take place in Frankfurt from 12 to 22 September – and the Eberspaecher Group is taking center stage at the exhibition: new approaches in Exhaust Technology as well as the coming generations of heaters. In the Exhaust Technology area, the supplier from Esslingen is presenting new ActiveSound solutions: at the push of a button, they ensure the desired sound backdrop in the engine compartment as well.

The basis for this is an extensive expansion of the software competency, which enables a broader range of sound adaptations. Eberspaecher is also demonstrating the possibilities of the further developed sister technology ActiveSilence® for the elimination of disturbing noises. In the area of exhaust-gas aftertreatment, with the SCR-on-DPF application, the company is exhibiting an innovation that is ready for series production. By integrating the SCR function in the diesel particulate filter, placement of the combi-system close to the engine and a reduction in weight are made possible.

A concept study by the automotive specialist furthermore shows just how much lightweight potential an exhaust system has to offer: special materials, thin wall structures, innovative manufacturing procedures and bionic-inspired components lower the weight by approx. 50 percent.

The Climate Control Systems area is celebrating the premiere of the Hydronic 2 Comfort – thanks to the thermal management function, the pre heater innovation shortens the preheating time and thereby saves up to 60 percent in fuel.
