In an Interview, Shane Reveals the Life-Changing Efforts of QuickHaven in Providing New Jobs to the Former Homeless While Helping Those Currently Unhoused

Rohnert Park - June 2022 - QuickHaven employee Shane was recently interviewed on how his life changed when he began to work for them. Formerly chronically homeless, Shane has achieved stability and sobriety while working steadily for QuickHaven and helping them build shelters for the homeless.

Shane used to be in jail constantly from being arrested on the streets when he would have no choice but to steal food - he had struggled to break the routine of knowing where to go for dinner or where to go for warm clothes. He hadn't been able to hold a job due to anxiety and felt like a burden on his family, leading to him leaving and getting into a cycle of homelessness and drugs.

Escaping such a cycle took a lot of work - a case worker that kept up with him and his case worked with him to land interviews and jobs, leading to an interview with QuickHaven. QuickHaven is fighting homelessness in California by creating transitional housing for unsheltered people and emergency responders. Finding fulfillment in his work coming full circle and helping people in similar situations that he used to be in, Shane is happy that his grandma has allowed him to live with her as he has become more responsible and stable with his job at QuickHaven.

Shane's words of encouragement: "If I can do it, anyone can do it. It's just about getting out of that cycle."
