Academy Award™ nominated director Taylor Hackford (“Ray”) will deliver the Keynote Speech at AFCI’s Cineposium International Conference 2007 in New Mexico at the association’s Lunch on Tuesday, August 28th at LaFonda On the Plaza. This year’s Cineposium event is hosted by the New Mexico Film Office and is expected to bring together film commission professionals and industry talent from more than 20 countries.

“Taylor Hackford appreciates the partnership that exists between film commissioners and filmmakers,” says Robin James, AFCI’s Board President, “and we are quite honored to have the opportunity to gain insights from one of the best in the business. Mr. Hackford received an Oscar™ nomination as Best Director for “Ray.” Among his other motion picture directing credits are “Proof of Life,” “The Devil’s Advocate,” “When We Were Kings,” “Dolores Claiborne,” “Bound by Honor,” “White Nights,” “Against All Odds,” “An Officer and a Gentleman” and “The Idolmaker.”

The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) is the global professional organization whose members are film commissioners that assist film, television and video production throughout the world. It is a non-profit educational association whose network of members serve as city, county, state, regional, provincial or national film commissioners for their respective governmental jurisdictions.

The goals and objectives of the AFCI's Professional Development Program are to further the development of knowledge and skills of film commissioners and industry professionals and to build international standards for film commissions and the vital services they provide to studios, producers, writers, directors, location managers and other industry professionals that engage in the work of on-location filming.
