SOMIX 2.0 - Comfortable bone cement mixing system for percutaneous vertebroplastie with significant reduction of monomer exposure

Teltow, Germany 14.05.2013 - SOMATEX ® Medical Technologies GmbH has developed with SOMIX 2.0 a new mixing system for bone cement for percutaneous vertebroplasty. Aim of the development was a significant reduction of monomer exposure to the air compared to the previous model. Due to a closed mixing chamber noxious fumes are considerably reduced now. An easy and comfortable handling of SOMIX 2.0 also allows homogenous and reproducible mixing results of bone cement. A paddle within the mixing chamber ensures by translation and rotation an optimal mixing result of PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) and the monomer component. The bone cement can be transferred through a luer-lock connection into a suitable injection system or a syringe. SOMIX 2.0 mixing system for bone cement is a disposable product, it is delivered in a sterile package and can be now ordered from our onlinestore at www.somatex.com.
