ViPNet OFFICE awarded with Industry and Innovation Prize IT – Distinction of the VPN solution for use with LTE

Berlin, April 18th 2013 – The VPN software ViPNet OFFICE is one of the best IT innovations and solution for the industry in 2013. The product of the Infotecs GmbH, the international supplier of high security software, impresses with its suitability for small and medium-sized businesses as well as for industrial companies and LTE.

The „Initiative Mittelstand” (initiative for SMB) awards the Innovation Prize IT for products with a significant benefit for small and medium-sized businesses since 2004. After the distinction in 2008 the VPN solution ViPNet OFFICE from Infotecs again is one of the best IT innovations 2013 in the IT security category under 4.900 applicants.

Besides the Innovation Prize IT the same organization awards the Industry Prize for the best and advanced industrial enterprises in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Infotecs GmbH participated with the IT security solution ViPNet OFFICE for the first time and also was honored with this prize. In the category “IT and software solutions” the VPN technology belongs to the best solutions.

ViPNet OFFICE builds flexible VPN scenarios for mobile users or highly secure virtual divisions within the network. Without restrictions on security and connection establishment companies and its employees constantly reach the corporate data anytime and anywhere. Besides SMBs and enterprises the industry is also among the target group of the IT security solution. Mechanical engineering manufacturers and controller operators utilize ViPNet for the protected remote control of machinery and equipment (M2M).

Another reason for the distinction was the use of ViPNet OFFICE in connection with LTE. As is generally known LTE ensures a fast and stable internet connection, however the connection of branch offices or unique users to the VPN is difficult because of the missing public IP address at the headquarter. Because ViPNet is an exclusively software-based technology this problem could be solved easily and cost-efficient. A freely scalable VPN could be set up with the IT security solution from Infotecs GmbH in a topology with LTE locations, and even to do so during normal operation.
