When asked where his passion for writing comes from, specifically in the police and detective genre, Mr. Rose explained, "I suppose my passion for writing found its origin in my passion for reading. As a kid I devoured adventure books by the masters such as Treasure Island and The Sea Hawk. But my favorite genre was mystery and detective fiction. In grade school the Hardy Boys were my idols. I couldn't wait to rush down to the book store in Kokomo, Indiana, my home town, to buy the latest Hardy Boys mystery. In high school, Sherlock Holmes became (and still is) my favorite sleuth. However, I am not ignoring authors of the hard-boiled detective fiction such as Dashiell Hammitt and Raymond Chandler, who had an impact on my writing."

Richard Rose is an award-winning author of short stories, novels and screenplays. His most recent novels are RETRIBUTION, THE LAZARUS CONSPIRACIES, and THE GUMSHOE - all mystery thrillers. LAZARUS is an adaptation of a screenplay that was a top-ten finalist in the Illinois/Chicago Film Writing Competition. Published by Savant Books and Publications in 2013, it has received rave reviews, including one by The Huffington Post, and a major award in fiction at The Pacific Rim Book Festival in Hollywood. Some of his screenplays have been optioned by independent producers, including Don Johnson Productions. Savant also released COMIC CRUSADERS, an adventure/fantasy screenplay novel and RETRIBUTION, a crime thiller.
